Ivan Vinogradov (Light Designer)

In 2006 he graduated from A.R.T. (MKhAT), Staging Department, Damir Ismagilov’s workshop.
He designed lighting for more than a hundred of drama and opera performances in various Russian and European cities, among them: Frau Schindler in Stanislavsky and Nimerovich-Danchenko Music Theatre; Magic Mountain in Stanislavsky Electrotheatre; A DragonThree Sisters and Seryozha in Moscow Art Theatre; The StoneThe Circus and The Blue Blue Bird in Moscow Theatre of Nations; O. Henry’s Christmas in Moscow Pushkin Drama Theatre; Dad Leaves, Mum Lies, Granny Dies in Meyerhold Theatre; Notes About Berdichev in “Dramatic Arts School” Theatre; The House of Bernarda Alba in Sverdlovsk Musical Comedy Theatre; Sweeney Todd and Run, Alice, Run in Taganka Theatre; Le Cocu Magnifique in Mossovet Theatre. He designed the lighting for the 23rd ceremony of the Golden Mask Theatre Award.

He worked as a main lighting designer in Gogol-Center, where he, among other performances, created lighting for The Awakening of SpringThe Hunting of the Snark and Brothers.

He regularly works with many directors, such as: Maxim Didenko, Konstantin Bogomolov, Vladimir Pankov, Oleg Glushkov, Philipp Grigorian, Egor Druzhinin, Dmitry Krymov, Victoria Meschaninova, Alexey Mizgirev, Yury Muravitsky, Larisa Alexandrova, Evgeny Pisarev, Kirill Strezhnev, Nina Chusova, Alexey Frandetty and Kirill Serebrennikov.

He takes part in filming for Russian Television, creating light scripts for studio and concert performances.

In 2012, as a part of collaboration with the Chekhov Festival, he worked at the Midsummer Night’s Dream release. The performance premiered in Royal Shakespeare’s Company Theatre in Stratford Upon Avon in Great Britain as a part of World Shakespeare Festival. Then the performance was shown in Edenborough, Australia and New Zealand.

In 2017/18 season Ivan got four Golden Mask nominations (for lighting designs of Hypnosis in “Praktika” Theatre, Antigona in Chamber Theatre in Voronezh, Run, Alice, Run in Taganka Theatre and Orpheus and Euridice in Musical Comedy Theatre in Ekaterinburg.
